Hey there!
It’s always weird to write about yourself, right? I’ve built a career on being the person who can figure it out — combining clarity, efficiency, and results. And I’m excited to put these skills to use for your organization.
About Alex & On Point
I started my professional life in the nonprofit world in Chicago in 2004, working with a community schools program. Not long after, a new calling emerged and I became an acupuncturist, earning my Master of Science in East Asian Medicine in 2013. After graduating, I co-founded a community acupuncture clinic with five partners, Five Point Holistic Health, building a practice grounded in accessibility and trauma-informed care.
Since then, I’ve launched new practices and helped others grow from solo clinicians into thriving, multi-modal organizations, all while deepening my work in trauma-responsive care as coordinator of the local Trauma Informed Community Network, and moving back into the world of grant management.
During the pandemic, I brought my skills to the local health department and later to the Virginia Harm Reduction Coalition, developing grants and programs, materials, and systems to support vaccination, testing, harm reduction, and overdose prevention. That work rekindled my love of program development, grant strategy & management, and leaving things better than I found them.

These experiences taught me the essentials of holistic thinking, clear communication, and balancing daily demands with the bigger mission, the why. I also learned the nuts and bolts: managing finances and people, building procedures, securing grants, and collaborating with partner organizations.
My guiding mantra has become "systems, not individuals" — creating structures that thrive beyond any one person while empowering people to do their best work.
My vibe?
Straightforward, competent, a little quirky, and always with a sense of humor. I still practice acupuncture part-time and bring the same clarity and compassion to my consulting work.
And for the mandatory “Hobbies” section:
I love being outdoors, in the garden or walking my dogs Peanut and Java. I enjoy sharing meals with my husband Seth, experimenting with new hair colors, or crushing monsters in Dungeons and Dragons; because I believe the best work comes from a life in balance.
